How to Enable Remote Desktop on Windows 10

Remote Desktop Protocol abbreviated as RDP, is a special network protocol that is usually used to connect two computers to access Windows desktop computers from distance. On non Windows operating systems, RDP has another nickname, Remote Desktop Connection. 

You can use Remote Desktop on your Windows 10 PC or on your Windows, Android, or iOS device to connect to a PC from afar. Remote Desktop Features is available in Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Enterprise. For Windows 10 Home this features is not available.

How to Enable Remote Desktop in Windows 10

1. Type "remote settings" into the search box and select Allow remote access to your computer from the results at the top.

2. System Properties will open the Remote tab. From there select Allow remote connections to this computer and keep the box checked for Network Level Authentication for better security.

3. Done. Note that you will need to enable incoming remote connections on the PC you’re connecting.
